All yields on the funds I track changed overnite :

VFIJX decreased to 4.90%
VBTLX increased to 4.49%
VMMXX decreased to 2.39% setting a new bottom
VWEAX increased to 8.26% making my combined average weighted yield between this fund and my GNMAs 5.84%

Have you noticed that most of Vanguard's tax exempt money market funds' yields are now higher than the Prime money market fund's yield?

i've noticed and have moved money there its a no brainer
Also if the prime was 5.20 when the fed funds was 5.25 if the fed funds is now 2 the prime should go just below 2 in like ballmer says short order

I noticed that myself , roope , and posted it several days ago . Never seen it before as I hold my bucket number one in a taxfree money market account and have been doing so for years .

It will be interesting to see , cpa61 , where this Fed funds rate settles and the prime sets itself . And congradualtions on your sell decision . Looks like MACDs will issue a sell signal possibly tomorrow .

The nav prices of our favorite Vanguard GNMA funds ( VFIIX & VFIJX ) closed up today to $10.42 a share .

Recent observations :

VFIJX = 2.27% ytd with a 4.90% yield
VBTLX = 1.80% ytd with a 4.49% yield
VMMXX = 1.21% ytd with a 2.39% yield

and due to popular demand I've added the tax free money market fund below

VMSXX = 0.91% ytd with a 2.66% yield
VWEAX = 1.71% ytd with a 8.26% yield

No more personal 401(k) data until the stock market recovers back to yesterday's indices close and that might be awhile .

With the ten year treasury yield trading lower right now , I expect the nav of our favorite Vanguard GNMA funds ( VFIIX & VFIJX ) to close higher .

As expected , the nav price of our favorite Vanguard GNMA funds ( VFIIX & VFIJX ) closed up to $10.43 today .

Observations :

VFIJX = 2.38% ytd with a 4.89% yield
VBTLX = 2.11% ytd with a 4.48% yield
VMMXX = 1.22% ytd with a 2.39% yield
VMSXX = 0.92% ytd with a 2.66% yield
VWEAX = 1.73% ytd with a 8.25% yield and closed unchanged today

VBTLX declined to 4.47%
VMMXX stayed the same at 2.39% making this the bottom thus far
VMSXX declined to 2.61%
VWEAX declined to 8.24% making my combined average weighted yield between this and my GNMAs 5.82%

I'll be leaving Anchorage early this morning to assist my " unnamed friend " in taking his fifth wheel RV down on the Kenai to set it up for his summer fishing . He'll leave it down there all summer and I also usually assist him in going back down much later this fall before freeze up to bring it back home before snow and the roads get bad for winter . I'll be back later today to post on the day's market action .
