Some yields changed overnite :

VFIJX decreased to 4.93%
VBTLX decreased to 4.46%
VMMXX stayed the same at 2.41%
VMSXX increased again to 2.51%
VWEAX decreased again to 8.35% making my average weighted yield between this fund and my GNMAs at 5.88% .

Once again , can't remember when I ever saw a tax exempt money market fund ( VMSXX ) pay more than a taxable money market fund ( VMMXX ) . My long term plan is to switch my bucket number one that's invested in the Schwab tax exempt money market fund ( SWXXX ) with Schwab that's paying approximately 2% to this Vanguard tax exempt money market fund . Probably the sooner the better .

Year to date performance through the end of April :

Nasdaq = ( - 9.03% ) ytd
S & P = ( - 5.64% ) ytd
DOW = ( - 3.35% ) ytd
Invested portfolio = ( - 2.55% ) ytd
Total Portfolio = ( - 1.43% ) ytd

Dollar amount of losses for me is over $70k in my Invested portfolio and over $52k in my Total portfolio . The trend is my friend and as long as I continue to beat the indexes as I did last year , I'm happy .

My own cup is more than half full and filling up rapidly with the rally yesterday .

With the ten year treasury yield trading higher today in the bond market , expect the nav prices of our favorite Vanguard GNMA funds ( VFIIX & VFIJX ) to close lower today .

As expected , the nav prices of our favorite Vanguard GNMA funds ( VFIIX & VFIJX ) closed down to $10.41 tonite .

Observations :

VFIJX = 2.11% ytd with a 4.92% yield
VBTLX = 1.73% ytd with a 4.46% yield
VMMXX = 1.18% ytd with a 2.41% yield
VWEAX = 2.11% ytd with a 8.32% yield and closed up again today
Personal 401(k) = ( - 3.1% ) ytd
VFINX = ( - 3.11% ) ytd
VTSMX = ( - 3.13% ) ytd

The increase in the Vanguard High - Yield ( junk ) bond fund ( VWEAX ) nav price has caught up to the Vanguard GNMA fund ( VFIJX ) year to date performance . Those investors who purchased this High - Yield fund recently have not only collected some nav price principal appreciation but also collected an excellent dividend too .

Dollar losses in my personal 401(k) have decreased from over $70k to over $55k . Trend is my friend and my over half full cup is still filling .

Observations :

VFIJX = 2.05% ytd with a 4.93% yield
VBTLX = 1.77% ytd with a 4.47% yield
VMMXX = 1.20% ytd with a 2.41% yield
VWEAX = 1.84% ytd with a 8.27% yield and closed down a penny today .

No 401(k) numbers tonite as stock markets were down slightly today so my figures aren't likely to change much .

VMMXX declined again to 2.40%
VWEAX declined again to 8.25% making my combined average weighted yield between this fund and my GNMAs 5.845% .

With the ten year treasury yield trading slightly lower at this moment , we could have the nav prices of our favorite Vanguard GNMAs give back that penny they lost yesterday .

Leave for Homer , Alaska later this morning on my first real estate trip this summer season in Alaska . Not planning on a overnite trip but with my condo on wheels VW Eurovan pop top camper , I'm prepared for most anything .

Leave for my second trip north to North Pole / Fairbanks , Alaska end of next week and that one will definitely be a overnite , over the weekend trip before returning back home to spend the Memorial Day weekend at home .

Observations :

VFIJX = 2.06% ytd with a 4.91% yield
VBTLX = 1.58% ytd with a 4.48% yield
VMMXX = 1.21% ytd with a 2.40% yield
VWEAX = 1.69% ytd with a 8.25% yield
VTSMX = ( - 2.73% ) ytd with a 1.93% yield
VFINX = ( - 2.81% ) ytd with a 1.98% yield
Personal 401(k) = ( - 2.8% ) ytd with a loss of less than $49k . I've made up over $179k in losses since this correction started .
