FYI - It turns out that Bellsouth (my internet provider) "upgraded" its spam filters and was deleting Kirk's emails.

Moonlight - if you server is Bellsouth it is likely they are the source of your problem getting Kirk's emails.

Thanks Kirk for resending stuff a few times before Bellsouth's tech support realized they had caused the problem.

Here is a question to verify the assertion above:

Can you or anyone out there provide data showing total market cap value?

It would be interesting to see if there really is quantitative change in supply and demand? Or might it just be a qualitative change, i.e.; there are more less-known companies that do not get the attention of investors.

Glad to see you've gotten to spend your returns . Your weather sounds like mine . Our surf isn't 12ft here on the Kona side , but O'ahu's north shore is . Maui has some high winds too .

My wife had local Marlin ( fish ) in her taco I cooked yesterday . I had good old Costco beef in mine .

Give us another surf report between wave sets again when you get time . Aloha

That is a very smart thing to do, especially, for a bull. You never know when the gains would evaporate. So, taking profits and spending the gains is mightly good idea.

Have fun. I enjoyed snow on Sunday but it melted in a day because of the warm temp. (storm came and left in a hurry). You like waters and I like mountains.

I clicked on Windows Live mapping and the location, La Ventana Bay, is apparently too small for the map. Don't drink the water and watch out for iguanas at night. Doesn't seem to be many people on Baja - must all be north of the border - some illegals will probably be hired to build that border fence.

Kirk, I was wondering if you're still using the CLX as a important indicator in your work? are you only using it for possible bottoms? It seemed to show a bottom prematurely in your post here - but I don't know. I don't follow it as close as you and Dacheif.

I haven't seen it look this bearish since October 2005.

30 day CLX over sold and bottomed today... offsets favorable going forward.

10 day CLX also oversold just like Oct 2005 at -6

VIX tossed a huge spike... very bullish

Put Call Ratios... 10 day moving average made the biggest spike in years and years....

AMG reported a huge net outflow of funds from equities...
All these usually align with major, tradable bottoms.... When they all line up like they did today on an options expiration day... I tend to think rocket fuel....

Soooooo I used some profit taking from small caps a few weeks ago at much higher levels to buy some large cap growth today... I might buy some of the small caps back if they correct further next week, but i'm starting to sniff a change where maybe it is time for large cap growth to finally get some time in the Sun... can't believe some of the top NASDAQ names are selling at PEs usually reserved for banks and oil companies... i.e. low to mid teens....
