» doctorj2 - UTEK Down 9% Today

Apparently UTEK conference call today did not impress analysts or investors as its stock price dropped a little more than 9% on the day. Did anyone happen to hear what they said that might have caused the sell off?

In response to New Dow High? posted by Kirk:

Did they hit on the same day? The news stated today that the all-time intraday was around 11750??

It seems to be hanging around 11,700 for a while. Will be interesting to see what happens from here.

» Normxxx - With Dividends, DOW up 12% since ATH

In response to With Dividends, DOW up 12% since ATH posted by Kirk:

Of course, you conveniently overlooked the intervening inflation of 15%! And that's only if you believe the BLS numbers, which even the Fed no longer uses!

According to the latest news reports, the Government is looking into changing R&D to a credit rather than a cost for calculating the GDP.

How many units of R&D can you eat or wear? Or, spend, if you are a stockholder?

» hickfish - New Dow High?

In response to New Dow High? posted by Kirk:

---- Date ---- Open ----- High ------ Low ---- ---- Close ---- Volume ---- Adj Close*
14-Jan-00 11,619.35 11,908.50 11,506.42 11,722.98 1,085,900,032 11,722.98

Sorry Chart didn't line up. However, Kirk everyone else is saying 11750 was the high. Also, it seems impossible to get a past intraday chart.

In any event it is really a moot issue, but the above states that the open on 1-14-00 was 11,619, the high was 11,908, and it settles at 11,722. The markets were crazy then, but I don't remember that type of volatile day until spring that year. Is it really possible the market shot up that high then settled so much lower? If it is the case celebrating 11,722 really seems premature.

Kirk, it is not really important, just can't quite get a handle on what the intraday high was.

Kirk is the Oct 5 date found in the book, or elsewhere?

Am I correct in reading that all forecasts are based on back testing?

"Does anyone else find it outright spooky that 10.11.06 (the date of yesterday's NYC plane crash) is 09.11.01 turned upside down?"

Wouldn't 09.11.01 upside down be 10.11.60? That's what I get when writing 09.11.01 on a piece of paper and turning the paper upside down.
