- tradesome1, The U.S. Dollar...
In response to The U.S. Dollar... posted by tradesome1: Great article, thank you for sharing it... the only thing I could add is that the reason the U.S. Dollar Index (it really is an index and not the dollar itself) is weighted the way it is, is because it's weighted on a percentage basis of the volume of trade we do with our foreign trading partners, and we do a considerable amount of trade with the European countries... the article questioned why the Dollar index is so heavily weighted towards the european currencies, but what I explain is the reason why...
Thanks again for the article, it was excellent reading... - tradesome1, The U.S. Dollar...
In response to tradesome1, The U.S. Dollar... posted by GROUNDZERO: Listening to an economist from London yesterday, he somewhat was discussing the same issues. For example, Great Britan does very little in the way of trade numbers versus the US and yet its currency has appreciated more against the dollar than the euro. He goes on to explain some currencies see to be the path of least resistance for shorting the dollar and one of those is the BPD. I would guess part of this is also geopolitical and until the situatuion in the middle east is resolved all bets are off as to a reversal.

GROUNDZERO
- Good consolidation
In response to Good consolidation posted by US55: I agree, it looks very solid, and the trend is still higher, much higher, but my near term indicators are screaming waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overbought... in no way does it mean to sell, but it does suggest that we could take another day or two to digest the move of the lasts two days... so, I'm prepared for a sideways move for a few days, just in case... I wrote some Calls here, this might help widdle away the time...
