A mini down that was created late last week has a wall of 1392.66.

I'm staying flat right now. Volatility is big enough that tight stops will just get taken out and I really don't want to go with 10 point stops to avoid that.

We're approaching the floor of the main down spiral, we could go as low as the 1392ish level, but not necessarily... I think we're probably closer to a low than most would suspect... anyhow, this is my guess, and I'm using the floor of the main down spiral as a guide, agreed this is a bit aggressive since we still have another 20 points of nothing but thin air between the bottom of my feet and the floor...

This is a very light long position with a mini, I could carry this down to zero and not even blink... for the record, this is NOT a spiral buy signal purchase, although I am using the spiral to add to my broader portfolio with this mini contract... I'm anticipating that the 1492ish level will attract significant buying... we'll see... right now, the DOW is approaching it's 200 day moving average, the markets are significantly over sold, and the coming main up spiral is showing a possible rally to the 1650ish level in the first quarter of 2008... again, this buy is not a spiral signal buy, but more a buy for my portfolio since I don't buy stocks, a mini contract is the same as 500 SPY shares but without all the hassle and only pennies in commish... I don't know why more people don't use the futures market for their stock portfolio, the SP futures is a basket of 500 of the biggest and best companies in America... and to borrow the phrase from Merrill Lynch, I'm bullish on America...

GZ, there is one more big advantage of using the futures for a broad based investment and that is the special tax treatment. All gains are taxed at 40% long, 60% short term I believe. So, for short term gains, 40% will be taxed as long term gains.

If this turns out to be a bigger correction than thought, I'm thinking we may at least test the previous support at the 1433 level, which may become resistance.
