-- posted by allancoleman » BoltonCT - Spiral= free Parabolic SAR I think this old Spiral thread here was a con and I spoke up about it before. They copied the Parabolic SAR (PS) and pretended they had something new. They added one new thing that was complete nonsense. They pretended they could predict tops and bottoms of major moves. The PS uses intra-day price extremes to set the level at which each spiral would begin. It was possible to imagine those levels as potential resistance levels but that would not even be reasonable because they were so extreme they had very little volume and therefore no volume for effective capitulation. But their con went much further than that. It is impossible to use the Spiral technique to predict new stock market highs because all the spiral levels are based on previous extreme points and the method cannot project future extreme points in territories where the spiral has not been before. So the people on that thread just made up those tops and bottoms and I found them close to 100% wrong except they always would say they were right. I carefully tracked him at times to understand how he always made money when I could see that it hardly could break even in day trading. This was how I discovered he did it. If the market took off at 10AM he would get on line at 11 AM and say he bought at 10AM. If at noon it was still going up he might say nothing or make a comment on how good the spiral was working. If at noon the market reversed he would see that at 1 PM and get on and say he sold out at 12 noon. When I questioned him as to why his announcements of his buys and sells were always later than the times he said he executed them he would say he was so busy. There were times when his announcement was several hours later. I am glad the other people who tried to illegally move thinly traded stocks and touted things that they obviously held in their portfolios, and ostentatiously touted their investment advice etc. have left or were given the boot from this site. I also want to give Inya authority to tone down my language when I sometimes get too harsh.
